Welcome to farmers.ph
I am JQ, founder of farmers.ph. I have been working to support smallholder farmers since 2017 and my journey started in the Philippines when I tried to build a startup to finance farmers. Through the years, I have learned about the challenges of smallholder farmers, some through my personal projects, and some through the work that I do in innovation consulting and building digital products.
Farmers in the Philippines face a number of challenges and they can largely be due to a lack of access, such as real-time information, knowledge on good agricultural practices, quality inputs, financial services, labor and equipment, and markets. There are many approaches and perspectives to tackling these challenges. Through this platform, I hope to focus on sharing knowledge and information with farmers and the wider agriculture community.
Farmers.ph aims to provide a comprehensive resource for farmers looking to overcome these challenges and succeed in their farming. Here are some topics that I hope to explore:
Farming innovations
Climate change adaptation
Good agricultural practices
Practical tips and tricks
Sustainability
Digital solutions
Knowledge and ideas come from everywhere. Anyone in the community is welcome to be a guest writer to contribute articles, stories, and new ideas. There will also be sharing of links to external articles and reports.
If you are part of the farming community in the Philippines, and these topics seem interesting to you, do join the farmers.ph community by either subscribing to our newsletter with your email or following us on Facebook or Instagram.
Thank you for reading this. Happy farming!
